She looked back once and just once.
She walked forward
Towards a place or maybe a future, it's hard to recall
But, she walked forward
and looked back only once

she would leave all things
known and old
for things
she didn't know and things to be known
But, it in that look
in her eyes
she smiled for she had and would have
She'd held and would hold
Which is why she looked back, just once
and never more
